Greece is the home of modern western drama and the theatrical performance is an integral and important part of the life of the Greek people. As a non-governmental organization that focuses on cultural activities such as theater performances, the SINO-GREECE PERFORMING ART ASSOCIATION hopes to make full use of the theater stage to contribute to cultural exchanges between China and Greece.
Mikis Theodorakis 100th Anniversary China Tour

We are honored that the Sino-Hellenic International Theatre Festival had the opportunity to take part in presenting this significant event. Together with our Greek partners, we helped fulfill Mikis Theodorakis’ wish of bringing his music to China.
The 100th Anniversary China Tour featured three remarkable performances: in Shanghai (Jasmine Theatre), Beijing (National Museum of China), and Nanchang (Honggutan Grand Theatre).
This tour marked an important step for the Sino-Hellenic International Theatre Festival in introducing outstanding works of Greek culture to Chinese audiences.

The Sino-Hellenic International Theatre Festival is committed to becoming a vital platform for cultural dialogue between China and Greece. Through a dual approach of “bringing in” and “going out,” the festival aims to introduce at least two exceptional productions each year — showcasing Chinese contemporary performing arts in Greece while presenting Greek classics and innovations on Chinese stages.
This ongoing two-way exchange not only enables audiences in both countries to experience the richness of each other’s theatre traditions, but also inspires dialogue and creativity among artists, fostering cross-cultural connections between East and West, tradition and modernity.
The festival believes that theatre, as an art form beyond language, can serve as a living bridge between civilizations. With each year of commitment, the Sino-Hellenic International Theatre Festival strives to let audiences in both nations experience the heartbeat and resonance of shared human stories under the lights of the stage.
